TRAIL RIDES

PWHA members meet regularly throughout the year In various parts of Southern California to enjoy trail rides Each ride has a designated trail boss. Different rides provide a wide variety of terrains, locations, and level of difficulty. Some of the rides that have been offered included Imperial Beach, Cuyamaca Mountain, Fairbanks Ranch, Fallbrook, Penasquitos Canyon and Otay Lakes.

VERSATILITY SHOW

New to PWHA is the Versatility show held In the fall. This fun and exciting show is co-hosted by PWHA and NPWHA . This show is for those who like barrel racing, pole bending, trail courses, driving, obstacle driving, and jumping. The Versatility show is open to all gaited breeds, whether registered or non-registered.

CLINICS

Educational clinics are held several times each year offering members a wide variety of subject matters. Topics include equine medical & health issues, trail safety, confirmation, gaits & gaiting, showing tips and more.

NEWSLETTER

PWHA's quarterly newsletter offers articles, TWH information, a calendar of upcoming events, and more. Members are encouraged to send articles, write articles about their horses as participate in the classifed section and barn directory.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Some members enjoy promoting the Tennessee Walking Horse by special invitation in parades and other gala events. Promotional events have included Side Saddle demonstrations at Night of the Horse, which is held annualy during the Del Mar nationals. San Diego's St. Patrick's Day Parade, and numerous other parades and events.

MEETINGS

General membership meetings are held every month on the 4th Tuesday, club members are always welcome to attend. Location will vary, call any board member to determine where.

ANNUAL SHOW SERIES

PWHA boasts a show schedule each year that encompasses both joint shows with other clubs and other breeds, as well as its own annual show: The PWHA Surf Sun Horse Show is a 2-3 day show held in July of each year. A complete schedule of formal show classes featuring gait, equitation, and conformation is complemnted by a full range of versatility classes, including the Triple Crown (Pole Bending/Trail/Water Glass), 2 year and under in-hand trail and of course the well known Antebellum class. Numerous Perpetual Trophies and other honors are presented at this event. A year end Hi Point Awards program has been well received over the years and is concluded each year with an elaborate Banquet and Awards.
